Virginia Is Taking On The Feds

A new campaign called the Virginia 10th Amendment Revolution is sweeping the state of Virginia. This movement is targeting the federal government’s over-reaching powers not delegated to it by the states.

Citizen activist groups are banding together to take this revolution to the 2010 legislative session of the Virginia General Assembly. They are calling on legislators to defend state’s rights under the 10th amendment with the Virginia Firearms Freedom Act (VFFA) and the Virginia Healthcare Freedom Act (VHFA).

Delegate Charles (Bill) Carrico will lead the charge in the House on the VFFA, a 10th amendment challenge to the powers of Congress under the commerce clause that prohibits the federal regulation of firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition manufactured and retained in Virginia.

Delegate Robert (Bob) Marshall will stand up to the feds with a VHFA in the House to challenge the powers of the federal government to mandate the purchase of federally approved healthcare coverage by every citizen under the threat of steep fines and jail time.

Until such States Rights Resolutions pack teeth, such as that that has been introduced in New Hampshire, They are basically a waste of time and effort. Virginia and other states that have passed or thinking of passing this type of State resolution are only inciting hope from those that still favor Liberty over Tyranny. My desire for those involved with this is this: “Put the Federal Government on notice that you are taking your States Rights back and they had better start taking notice of it”. Our jails and prisons are waiting for them!

As a member of the Consitution Party, I find it repulsive that more citizens aren’t standing up and making their voices heard outside of the staus quo channels. How do we hope to maintain a grip on the threads of freedom that we are holding to without the same resolve our Founders maintained, risking their lives, their fortunes and Sacred Honor?

The “Contract With America” resurgence, mostly now known as “returning to the GOPs roots” is nothing more than the Republicans wanting to regain position at the table, in Congress and the VA General Assembly, with the hope that America and Virginia will forget history… the new ploy to gather the vote.

With Virginia’s GOP Governor and majority in the General Assembly, how soon will those conservative values that were trampled and compromised regain the high ground and be brought to the forefront and passed “this go ’round?”

Having Delegate Carrico on record (film and tape) swearing allegiance to uphold the Constitution and acknowledging that he would resign immediately if he violated his oath of office, I’m holding out hope for him and praying that his resolve will hold true. I’m certainly praying for him.

Delegate Bob Marshall seems to be on the side of the Constitution. Too bad other Reps don’t seem to be.

The Constitution Party of the Roanoke Valley is on your side gentlemen.
