Dear Mr. Baldwin:
I read you articles on News with Views and very much apapreciate them and your diligence in working to restore and preserve our freedom and liberty.
I just finished reading your article on our Constitution – ‘Failed Experiment’. I had forgotten that the Constitution is and was, from the beginning, an experiment – and was called such by the Founders. I must thank you for this.
Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that the Constitution -which I revere and respect and which does require elected office holders to uphold, protect and defend – has not succeeded, ‘that the experiment has indeed failed’, shown by the test results which are now in and cover more than two hundred years. I have said to myself, and others,
- It hasn’t worked, has it “?
Your article provides great food for thought and encouragement for a better future.
Thank you,
Mary Rutkowski

Thank you, Mary. Freedom is only for the diligent. The slothful always revert back to the status quo as the source for their decision.

Mr. Baldwin,
The very thought that our revered Constitution is a failure makes me extremely anxious. If such is true, then we appear to have lost the moorings by which civilized man agree to conduct themselves–The status quo as you would describe it. I prefer to say that civilized man has lost his civility and is not deserving of the higher law made to govern a people worthy of a Constitution based on Natural Laws. Is this a failing of the Constitution or a failing of the people?I believe it is the later. Freedom carries with it many rights but equally binding are it’s responsibilities which many find too onerous to perform and thus by their slothfulness they abdicate those responsibilities to the Government which they delude themselves has as it’s goal the preservation of those natural laws. Such a government never was and never will be until mankind has lifted itself and is comportment above that of the requirements of the Constitution and simply conduct themselves in accordance with the aspects of Natural Law that rest on the fundamental principles of freedom. That same Freedom requires hard work, perseverance, self discipline, self-reliance, and continual vigilance. Mankind is prone to seek the easy way and sinks to that level which is in alignment with his bases nature. Still, there sometimes comes a clarion voice amidst the darkness of self deception that lifts a people by it’s reasoned and inspirational message and calls mankind to follow a higher and steeper path simply because it is in the best interest of said people. When a people are ready for the message, they will follow.

It was amazing to read your article in News with Views. I am basically an Indian but our forefathers where of Christian origin from very beginning of the Christian Era and they were way back from the apostolic church areas of the Mid East. We have read and heard lots about how the American Constitution was formed, basically from the Mosaic laws, which we revere most; but our allegiance went to be to our Lord after we came to realize He is the chosen one to rule our hearts and the Government will be upon His shoulders. I also read the Common Sense Revisited as well; but your article seems to be of very high intellect with a very nice knowledge of the Scriptures from which the Constitution was framed.
Thanks very much, May God bless you and hope to meet you once.
Sincerely
Wesley
